Put Your Trust In God ; Instead Of Man

Psalms 16:10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

My view on the Holy Scriptures is that the Old Testament points us to Christ while the New Testament points us back to Christ. As we read this Psalm written by David , we can see the Holy Spirit's influence in his writing , pointing us to Christ , not the triumphant King but showing us the suffering Messiah.

Death is a subject that is dark , mysterious and frightening to many people.
They wonder if death is the end. Men have sought to cheat death in hopes that science will discover a solution through cryobiology and cryopreservation thus using future advancements ; they can be awaken out of their eternal nothingness.
I have some bad news for those planning on these methods for preservation of their eternity.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

We have the answer to eternal life that science will never find.

David had confidence that he would have eternal life because he had faith in God , in particular the Holy One. Through faith , he knew that God would not forsake him.
David knew that the Holy One would not be affected by the cold grip of death.
As David , we have placed our faith in Christ and we know , with complete confidence , what awaits us in eternity. Along with this information , it breaks our hearts , but we have been told what awaits those that reject the only suitable sacrifice for our transgressions against the Father.

It's true that after the death of Christ , his body was prepared and dressed for the tomb.
However , no amount of spices can kill the stench of the tomb and no amount of prepping can lessen the decay a person will be subjected to once the grave rot begins working on any corpse but this Holy One was different than all the rest.
This Holy One prophesied of by David wasn't bound by chains of death. The stench and rot could not work upon His body , not because a funeral director did a good job of embalming but for reason the Roman centurion fearfully stated ............ "truly this was the Son of God" That's why David wrote , "neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

The Bible states that one day our body will be awaken , not by cryogenics but by the call from God on an appointed day.
Whether there is anything beyond death isn't questionable. The Bible is clear that everlasting life is promised for the believer as well as the non-believer. The question is , what will be your conditions throughout eternity?

Daniel 12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

I want you to think about this passage that was written close to a thousand years before John the Baptist formally announced the Messiah.

Psalms 16:10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

I want you to clear your mind and allow this passage to sink in your heart.

Acts 2:29-36
29  Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30  Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31  He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32  This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34  For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35  Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36  Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

The Christian does not have to fear death because we , being in Christ , are more than conquerers.
We win because Christ won and we share His victory.

1 Corinthians 15:55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Revelation 1:18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

If you come to know Christ , you'll have the answer to what awaits us when the last breath is gone from our bodies.
If the thought of death brings a cold chill across your skin or you fear the unknown associated with death ; I pray that you will seek to find Christ and partake of what He can offer you throughout eternity.

God bless
